Hiya I’m Gregor! I was born with Spina Bifida and then lost my left leg due to a hospital acquired infection. I don’t see disability as a disability, it’s more of an obstacle which you can work around creatively. I don’t have any fancy qualifications, other than a Graduate Diploma of Management and I am currently studying Law at the University of New England. Oh I also have qualifications in 3D Animation and Visual FX, I love being creative in everything I do.
My professional life in disability has seen me working as a Disability Advocate, Support Coordinator and NDIS Administrative Appeals Tribunal Officer in Canberra. Working in these areas I felt that I had some missing pieces in knowledge about the NDIS, which lead me into my last role as a Local Area Coordinator and then as Senior Local Area Coordinator in both Outer East and Southern Melbourne. I am also an NDIS participant and have experienced first-hand the complications and the absolutely amazing things that the NDIS can bring.
The NDIS is a beautiful thing and I am here to help participants, and their supports, understand their plans, building their capacity so that they feel confident in organising and maintaining their own supports so that they can achieve their goals, and to be as independent as possible at home and in community.
In my spare time I compete and train in powerlifting, go on adventures with my puppy, he’s always happy if there is water involved. I am also a little bit of a nerd spending time playing with electronics, 3D Printers, computers and other funky cool gadgets and gizmos.
